Gearbox Maintenance Instruction

We at CME are reaching out to all our Electric Mini Junior (EMJ) customers with updated gearbox maintenance instructions. Through continuous testing it was determined that regular gearbox lubrication inspections and top ups are required. See the instructions detailed below.

Gearbox Lubrication Inspection Instructions

CME recommends inspecting the lubrication level of your

gearbox every 80-85 hours of operation.
 

With your EMJ in the upright position, follow the below instructions to inspect the level of lubrication.

• 1. Change the orbital rotation angle to 4°.

• 2. Rotate the orbital assembly until the motor is tilting backwards.

• 3. Remove the magnetic plug.

• 4. Using a CME supplied syringe, slowly inject the SAE250 lubricant into the gearbox.

• 5. When SAE250 lubricant starts leaking out, STOP injecting, your gearbox is now adequately full.

• 6. Re-install the magnetic plug.

• 7. Change orbital rotation angle back to desired angle. (6.5° - 7.5° recommended)

NOTE: New/dry gearboxes will need to be filled with 30ml of SAE250 lubrication.
