In 2024, a sustainable fortress appeared in Kungälv, Sweden.

THE KUNGÄLV FACILITYThe solar-powered mothership
Meet the Kungälv facility – our solar-powered mothership! In 2023, construction began on the new CME Fortress in Kungälv, Sweden. Every detail, from top-tier insulation to sustainable heating and power systems, was carefully planned to create a space that’s as sustainable as it’s comfortable and inspiring for our employees. Furthermore, it’s a proof of our continuous growth.

SUSTAINABILITYSelf-sufficient from spring to autumn
With 186 solar panels and a 88 kW battery room, our entire facility is self-sufficient in renewable energy from spring to autumn. Together, the system cuts roughly 34 tonnes of CO₂ emissions – every year. Considering that more than 60% of Sweden’s energy production already comes from renewable sources, that’s a serious drop in carbon emissions. And hey – if solar panels work in Sweden, they work just about everywhere.

The 34 tonne CO2 cut is equal to driving around the Earth 5 times* by car.*Assuming the car consumes 32 miles per gallon and the Earth’s circumference is 40,000 km per lap.
Speaking of cars – the system also charges our employees EV’s. All to encourage climate-friendly travel alternatives.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITYA social workspace meant for growth
We care deeply about our co-workers. That’s why one of the most important aspects of the new facility was creating a welcoming office – offering everything from sunny balconies to crème-de-la-crème comfort and a premium work environment. This major expansion also opens up new opportunities for continued growth. We’ve already merged two previously separate departments, streamlining manufacturing for our international customers.
